Our first two weeks accommodation...

We had some more good news today - we have been allocated our accommodation for our first two weeks in Melbourne. We have a 3 bedroom executive apartment right on the Southbank - it costs (my company) £400 per night so it should be pretty good! With just a 5 minute walk to work it's a bit of a difference to Chris's current commute!!

More progress...Chris has sold his car

Yippeee....I have a buyer for my car....quite a relief as I had quite a bit of dosh tied up in it. I wonder what sort of car we will have in Oz......

Our Visas have been approved...!

This Thursday we had an email to say our visa had been approved! I (Caroline) was really excited because this has been what has stopped us from booking flights and a holiday. So today I booked the flights. We leave on Saturday 21st August in the evening and get to Cairns on 23rd August for our weeks holiday to Port Douglas (Great Barrier Reef, Queensland)

The last 2 days I have been clearing out the loft. Why have I kept so much rubbish up there for 14 years?

Welcome to our blog - all about our impending move 'down under' to Melbourne Australia.

Why are we going.......good question! Well, Chris was offered the opportunity with his company PwC and it just seemed like a great opportunity to experience life in another part of the world.

As it is a job secondment it means we have to stay for two years but can return home after that.

We are currently busy getting everything ready - and there is a lot to do. Top of the list at the moment is renting out our house and selling our cars......but the list is very long!
