The good news is that I finally got my birthday present...a new T.V/DVD player! Only 2 months since my birthday! On Saturday night I went out with Josh to watch the AFL game round his mates, it's the grand final next week! Mum and Dad went out for their anniversary on Saturday as Dad is away in Sydney all week with work.Went to a lovely fish restaurant in Mordi called "Doyles" - we will take any visitors there because it was lovely!
Not sure what we will get up to this week(it's 2 weeks holiday for the Aussie kids too). Hopefully I will be working a few days and I think we might go into the city another day but I am sure we will find something to do (watching the new TV?!)
Great to see Jack has updated blog! Must be the excitement of getting a 50" TV and his birthday present!! Only 2 weeks before you all start school so enjoy the free time and do lots of exciting things, not just watching TV. Look forward to seeing lots of photos soon. Good to hear Caroline and Chris have been out enjoying the local restaurants, I look forward to visiting the fish restaurant when I visit. Love to all, Lisa xxx
ReplyDeleteGlad you've settled into Mordy.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you're 'whinging' about 'cost of living' already :-) Although, the price of the car does sound steep - should have gone for a pick-up truck.
I suppose Jack can bring back cheap fruit and veg from now on though, so that might save you a penny or two :-).
Sam's job sounds interesting - $10 per bike. If you can arrange to have them delivered to the garage / 'boys den' Sam, then maybe you can pay some of Will's mates to assemble them for you at $8 per time - get three or four of them going and you can start making an income just 'project managing' like your dad does!
Hi Wills - I'll be interested in seeing how you get on with Aussie rules football! Is the 'off-season' for Aussie Rules Football, when they play Rugby in Oz? Can you do both?
Joe
Hi the Morgs! Great to read all your news, and see your fantastic pics. All looks and sounds brilliant and so exciting. Hope you're starting to feel at home, it must be so weird ... but in a good way! It does sound like you're settling in really well and getting (very) organised. Life back home continues as normal, boys 3rd week back at school now and all well settled - but then, it's not like they've moved to Australia or anything!!! We've been busy with holidays, work and all the back to school stuff. Off on a girls weekend to Menorca this weekend, oh yay! Take care and have fun, so glad it's all going well. Carolyn, Mark & boys X.

Hi Morgs,
ReplyDeleteWell the sun is shining here now - foggy this morning in the forest but only found out when I had the roof down and could be bothered to stop and put it up again.
So Portsmouth and Saints seem to be competing for crappiest team on south coast - could still avoid playing each other next year if it carries on like this.
Off to play golf at Forest of Arden tomorrow - Mandy not pleased as out 3 nights in a row but heh - worked hard on clearing house and garden last week - one full skip and a great bonfire and all was done! No doubt money to be spent now on decorating and plants for garden.
Oz always seemed to be expensive for clothes and cars and exchange rate just makes it worse. Good news is that cars hold their value - no salt on roads in winter to rust them.
Doyles is a fantastic restaurant - only ever went to Watsons Bay (chippy version) but always great quality (if not slightly expensive for fish & chips).
Joe was away all weekend so George wanted to do his paper round - I had to help as he is too young - on Sunday George was a no show! Thanks George! G did manage to score a last minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw at weekend which was well taken.
So you only need to find jobs for Caroline and Wills then all contributing to family life - not bad 3 weeks in. Mordy looks great - main street so typical of Oz mainstreets.
Speak soon

Hey, Mark! Grt to hear from you! Playing golf mid week - outrageous!Hows Joe getting on with the hockey? Chris working hard in Sydney this week (so he tells me!)putting a bid together 4 Telstra and working with 6 Partners - pretty full on. But hey! we have the AFL final to look 4ward to on Saturday:)
ReplyDeleteDespite the weather forecast the day stayed dry and golf was ok - not bad for only 3rd time this year! They had golf pro at start showing 1 hr of trick shots - i struggle with one but he was hitting 2 or 3 at a time and then hitting balls every second or so - his record is 234 in 2 minutes.
ReplyDeleteJoe has been to 2 training sessions and seems to be enjoying it - he wants a hockey stick for his bday so that's a good sign.
Enjoy the Grand Final this week end - take a photo of Chris snoozing in his seat - worth a fortune!
